The Story of ABB Australia

Headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, ABB has a history of excellence for more than 130 years and operates in more than 100 countries across three regions: the Americas, Europe, and Asia, the Middle East and Africa. It has four customer-focused leading businesses: Industrial Automation, Electrification, Motion, and Robotics & Discrete Automation.

ABB serves three main customer segments: Utilities, Industry, and Transport & Infrastructure. About half of their customers are in the industrial segment, and they serve production facilities and factories all around the world, from process industries (such as mining, oil and gas, pulp and paper) to discrete industries (including food and beverage, automotive, and consumer electronics).

In Australia, ABB has operations at 10 sites in Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, and Melbourne. They provide efficient and reliable solutions for customers with a focus on reduced operating costs, improved safety, uptime, and energy efficiency.

Recruitment process

To find your job, you can browse their Career page for open jobs or get recommendations based on your skills and interests. You need to make sure that the role matches your personal goals.

You can then complete your application details and upload your documents. Besides your personal information, your CV should also provide an overview of your skills and qualifications that match the job requirements. Your application will be evaluated, and if you are selected to proceed to the next step, you will receive a request to disclose a potential conflict of interest.

Depending on the position, you might be invited to an initial online interview or assessment (using the latest technologies), followed by two or three rounds of interviews with HR and hiring managers to dive into your motivation, background, skills, and cultural fit. This is also the opportunity for you to get to know them better and to show why you are right for the job.

In order to guarantee a lean and simple process, ABB prefers online interviews or assessments. This will allow you to decide on the time, day, and set up of the interview, within given time frames. If the interviewers’ feedback and the compliance checks are positive, you will receive a job offer.
