We are looking for Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Process or Chemical Engineering OR Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering OR Bachelor of Engineering Technology OR Materials and Process Engineering students to be based in the following locations: 

  • Ōtautahi / Christchurch 
  • Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland 
  • Te Whanganui-a-Tara/ Wellington 

This role will sit in the Energy & Industrial business unit. 

What is Energy & Industrial at Aurecon? 

The Energy and Industrial (E&I) service group work with NZ’s largest dairy, manufacturing, fuel storage and distribution clients such as Fonterra and Z Energy. They partner with clients to add value by solving their sticky issues and help bring their ideas to life. The team are involved in all aspects of the project life cycle from concept design through to commissioning and ongoing maintenance and testing of their assets. There is a major focus on decarbonisation and transition of client’s assets and businesses. 

In E&I you will join a team of outstanding emerging professionals and have access to all our senior technical and leadership team to kickstart and grow your career 

Our process interns can be exposed to most of the engineering and advisory requirements of multiple industries, including, energy and mass balances, concept development, P&ID development, procurement, hydraulics, design workshops, limelight professional networking and site visits. 

What are we looking for from you?

You'll be ready to make an impact. You will be studying towards a formal qualification and be in either your 2nd or 3rd year of study. You will need to have the ability to work on a full-time basis from November 2023 until February 2024. 

We'll need you to be studying towards the following degree: Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Process or Chemical Engineering OR Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering OR Bachelor of Engineering Technology OR Materials and Process Engineering. 

And you will bring: 

  • Passion for changing the way we deliver carbon neutrality and sustainability in everything we do. 
  • Ability to initiate and build relationships with both your peers and clients to push forward the boundaries of what is possible. 
  • Enthusiasm for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future.

This step should take up to 1 hour to complete and requires a mix of written and video responses. Please make sure you are in a quiet, well-lit area with a strong internet connection before you start the assessment. Step 3: Interview 

If you are selected to progress to the final stage you will be invited for an interview in person or virtually, depending on locations. After the interview process has concluded offers to the successful candidates will be made and contracts issued.
