This process was very easy for me and I was able to have a flexible start date.

Interview was personable, didn't feel as though I was getting grilled. Atmosphere was relaxed, while giving a good insight to the company

The interview was very good in my opinion compared to other companies. Felt a lot more personalized and felt like I was going into a good team.

After submitting my CV and a cover letter, I had one interview with my future managers. Following a reference check I was offered a graduate position at Cardno.

My interview was carried out with my now direct supervisor and Business Unit Manager, so questions and communication about the role was honest.

Application followed by phone interview then in person interview with 4 interviewers.

I believe Cardno had one of the fastest turnaround times in responding after my final interview.

The interview was really good. the process wasn't great, I submitted an application, heard back weeks later requesting further information, didn't hear anything for weeks again, then was called for my interview and was told that the job description advertised wasn't accurate nor was the location of the job and asked if I would still like to proceed, luckily I was able to be flexible with the location, this involved relocating and the altered job description was better suited for my skills then the original add, this is likely why I was successful nonetheless.

Email inviting the individual in for an interview. Interview and then waiting for the result.

I had a phone interview and then 2 follow up interviews.

Resume. 2 Interviews with team lead and senior engineer. Success.

Phone interview and face-to-face interview. Interviews made me feel extremely comfortable and welcomed.

The interview I found great the interviewers were very nice and really helped put me at ease. The application process was simple and easy so there were no delays or issues when applying.

Was an excellent process with no delays and no hassle. Went from an interview to offer within a week or so.

The Cardno review process is very simple. I submitted my resume online, from my memory without needing to do any in-depth online assessments, and then a few months later I received a call saying that I had an interview. And then the interview itself was very relaxed, and I was able to chat through my past work experience and my personal interests and passions.

I only had an interview, I'm not sure if it's changed since then. Cardno can do graduate intakes like other companies but also hire resourcefully, when say the traffic team needs someone new they will hire, ensuring each person is hired with intention and has a role

Interview went smoothly, not overly formal

I went through a phone interview and then met with the local business manager which was a good process. Currently all new employees are channeled through HR in Sydney making the process more rigid and formal

Behavioural questions (responding to difficult scenarios), previous experience in field of study and previous job experience

I was asked about my experience with certain software, how I am in a team environment and when there are issues how do I cope with it, as well as any past work experience I had.

I was mostly asked about my previous undergraduate experience and the projects that I had worked on. I was asked if I knew how to use ArcMap software, which was a big plus.

My previous experience, my willingness to learn new technical information and to undertake site work.

I was asked general interview questions, such as strengths and weaknesses. However I would recommend leaders to ask more personality questions to get an idea of the interviewee.

I was asked about my interests, previous experience, why Cardno, how flexible was I with travel, what I knew about Cardno, when I could start, how much I expected to be paid.

What you would do with an excavation

What have I done during uni, outside of uni. How I manage stressful situations and salary expectations. Felt more like a convo than a grilling interview which was nice.

Questions about me. No situational questions.

A good variety of engineering and non-engineering questions.

I was asked some general questions about who I am as well as what some of my interests are in regards to work and outside the workplace. I was also asked some general questions about my field so they could get an understanding of where my education in the field was at.

General questions. Dealing with stressful situations, overcoming adversity etc.

What I enjoy doing in the workplace, hobbies outside of work and what I thought I could bring to the company

I was hired 3+ years ago when I was a very inexperienced undergraduate. My interview was not very formal or technical.

What interests I have? What I can offer the team? Where I see myself in 5 years?

Be confident and relaxed. interviews are friendly and a relationship should be established.

Get to know Cardno and understand the kind of work we do to make sure it is something you are interested in.

I would recommend they best prepare by showing they are comfortable, having a good attitude/being friendly, and being open and eager to learn

Dress as you would if you were to work in the company and be yourself, and look up the key company beliefs.

My biggest recommendation would be to look at acquiring undergraduate experience during your degree. I started doing unpaid experience in my third year at uni which then led to some paid experience. I found that during my interview, my undergraduate experience was the biggest highlight.

Be genuine, honest and open about your past experience and future goals.

There was a big focus on teamwork and communication so I think it is best to be ready to share past examples of you demonstrating those skills.

Understand the company and its values. Prepare answers in advance to potential questions to ask.

Have confidence and be interested. Fake it till you make it with the confidence, effective oral communication is key. Showing that you have an interest in the company and the work that you will be doing, shows that you are invested and are likely to perform better as it actually is a passion, in addition you will come across as being a positive person that would improve the office culture and be pleasant to work with.

Just be yourself and be honest

Be yourself and don't hesitate to let your personality show. For grads specifically, a lot are motivated to secure work so be honest with your experience or lack thereof and show qualitative characteristics that show you're a team member. Preparation is key, you want to have an understanding of what you're getting into and what you can bring

Every team operates in a different manner. It is difficult to give advice to other teams and other candidates.

Don't hide the things that make you, YOU. Be proud of your interpersonal skills and other skills you think would make you good at joining and working in a team and getting along with others in your day-to-day work life.

I recommend just being yourself and being honest on your resume, the company doesn't try and ask questions to trick or catch you out and all the HR staff you communicate with are super nice and helpful.

Check out Cardno's website and have a peruse of the public documents in the 'About Us' section, particularly "Our Vision, Purpose and Values". Also have a look at specific sectors to see if the work we do suits your personal interests. I'd say successful candidates are ones who show a keen interest and passion in the role they are applying for.

If you're going for a specific role, research the role itself, projects that team is working on etc. If you're applying for a general graduate program with rotations show you're interested to get a taste for everything.

research the company, be knowledgeable on the company's current projects and strengths. Don't stress too much as well as the interviewers are approachable

I believe being enthusiastic and showing your willingness to learn will get you very far.

Always be upfront about your interests and professional goals. If it's the right job for you it'll work out.
