The interview was really good. the process wasn't great, I submitted an application, heard back weeks later requesting further information, didn't hear anything for weeks again, then was called for my interview and was told that the job description advertised wasn't accurate nor was the location of the job and asked if I would still like to proceed, luckily I was able to be flexible with the location, this involved relocating and the altered job description was better suited for my skills then the original add, this is likely why I was successful nonetheless.

The Cardno review process is very simple. I submitted my resume online, from my memory without needing to do any in-depth online assessments, and then a few months later I received a call saying that I had an interview. And then the interview itself was very relaxed, and I was able to chat through my past work experience and my personal interests and passions.

I only had an interview, I'm not sure if it's changed since then. Cardno can do graduate intakes like other companies but also hire resourcefully, when say the traffic team needs someone new they will hire, ensuring each person is hired with intention and has a role

My biggest recommendation would be to look at acquiring undergraduate experience during your degree. I started doing unpaid experience in my third year at uni which then led to some paid experience. I found that during my interview, my undergraduate experience was the biggest highlight.

Have confidence and be interested. Fake it till you make it with the confidence, effective oral communication is key. Showing that you have an interest in the company and the work that you will be doing, shows that you are invested and are likely to perform better as it actually is a passion, in addition you will come across as being a positive person that would improve the office culture and be pleasant to work with.

Be yourself and don't hesitate to let your personality show. For grads specifically, a lot are motivated to secure work so be honest with your experience or lack thereof and show qualitative characteristics that show you're a team member. Preparation is key, you want to have an understanding of what you're getting into and what you can bring

I recommend just being yourself and being honest on your resume, the company doesn't try and ask questions to trick or catch you out and all the HR staff you communicate with are super nice and helpful.

Check out Cardno's website and have a peruse of the public documents in the 'About Us' section, particularly "Our Vision, Purpose and Values". Also have a look at specific sectors to see if the work we do suits your personal interests. I'd say successful candidates are ones who show a keen interest and passion in the role they are applying for.

If you're going for a specific role, research the role itself, projects that team is working on etc. If you're applying for a general graduate program with rotations show you're interested to get a taste for everything.
