Our graduate teacher program will help you make a successful start to your career as a teacher. We will support you with a coaching program that provides one on one targeted support to further develop and refine your practice and targeted professional learning modules to build your skills. You will be supported by a mentor and coach who is a senior leader within CEDP. There will be many opportunities to network, share ideas and build your confidence. We will support you through your transition to full registration with the Teacher Registration Board.

Recruitment Process

Our roles are advertised on many different job boards and digital platforms to ensure we are capturing a diverse pool of candidates. Our recruitment and selection process is merit-based, which will vary depending on the role you have applied for and whether it is school-based or within the Catholic Education Office. The general recruitment process is outlined below.

  1. Job Advertising
  2. Apply For Role - cover letter and CV, academic transcripts
  3. Initial Assessment - telephone interview
  4. Interview - in person or via video behavioural based interview for approximately 45 minutes with interview panel of at least two
  5. Residency, Citizenship and Visa Requirements
  6. Reference Checks and Background Checks
  7. Qualification and Accreditation
  8. Job Offer

Selection Criteria:

To be successful in you will demonstrate alignment to the purpose and core values of CEDP along with:

  • A Master of Education (or at least 75% complete)
  • Working with Children Check Clearance
  • A personal commitment to learning and honing your teaching skills
  • Innovative approach
  • Leadership capability
  • A willingness to be involved in the broad life of the School
  • A connection with the Catholic Mission of the school community
