I enjoy the interview process as it was different from a lot of companies. In many of them the game was one of the first things you did in the interview process, but I am not that good with the game part as I would always get nervous. With Cenitex, the first steps were all about me and video interviews. One of the last steps was the game part, but because they already knew so much about me, I wasn't as nervous.

There was an introductory recorded video. Maybe a psychometric assessment. And then the final assessment day interview. This was done in a group setting online. Was a very nice touch for the hiring team to send out a little tea set to all those who made it to the final day. Was a nice way to show appreciation for everyone's time invested into the process.

The interview process I went through had four stages: 1. Submit application with resume and cover letter, 2. Recorded video response interview questions, 3. Psychometric test in the form of a pipe puzzle maze game to test analytical and problem-solving skills, and 4. In-person group interview (held virtually my year due to lockdown) with team-based problem-solving activities and an individual interview with two Cenitex people.

There were multiple rounds, starting from taking a few assessments to get our analyst mindsets out on paper/screen. Then we have a Full day assessment where in we went through a few rounds in which they gave us an opportunity to present a speech in front of everyone just like a presentation but without screen share and after that we were tested on team skills with a problem to solve and see if we are also good leaders while giving good solutions to the problem and also giving others good opportunity to say what they have to say and conclude.

Plenty of opportunity to practice your answers and get comfortable during the preliminary interview process where you record your answers to questions. The assessments were run well and so was the final interview, the interviewers created a comfortable atmosphere for me to be the best me. Good structure from application to final interview, nothing in there that was unexpected.

Do you have any specific tips and advice for candidates applying to your company? How would you recommend they best prepare?
Just be yourself and articulate your past experiences using the STAR method. You can also try participate as much as you can during the assessment center while ensuring that everyone in the group is able to comfortably voice their opinions. I also recommended coming in with questions to ask the hiring team as well.
Graduate, Melbourne - 31 Jul 2024
Be open and confident.
Graduate, Melbourne - 23 Jul 2024
My best advice is to be you and be honest. At Cenitex, they see us more than just a number so if you show your personality, be respectful and be open to collaborate with others, you will be a good fit.

Practice the STAR (situation, task, action, and result) which is the format Cenitex likes their questions to be answered in. If it's another format now, simply prepare well as they let you know what the format is. Also, bring in the mindset of being accountable, the public sector wants people who are willing to take charge/accountability and get things done.

After getting into the initial rounds just be you and try not copy others and come up with your own solutions in team tests and take out the leader in you and present confidently with proper practice beforehand. Do not be scared of the process as there will be fun activities in between the rounds as well. Ask a few questions about the company and departments and be ready to ask good questions about the role and company in the last interview

Peruse annual reports and get a good understanding of the organisations' values, what services they provide, and the culture. Link these aspects back to your own personal characteristics, mindset, and visions/motivations.
Graduate, Melbourne - 15 Jul 2022
Leverage anything you can, learn about what a question is really asking, how is it valuable to the company and what is it that you've done that be used as an example here. It doesn't have to have extreme stakes on the line, demonstrate you did what the interviewer is looking for and you now understand how to apply that in the future. Transferrable skills are absolutely crucial. For the interviewing stages, REHEARSE, your ability to communicate your answer is as important if not more important than the answer, they clearly see you have the technical ability because you've passed on through to the interviewing stages. Now it's up to you to show your personality, that you're someone who is going to be able to bring value to the company and also get value out of the graduate program.

It's hard to offer advice since the process seemed a lot easier than other companies. Everything was quite straight forward and the communication between the OD team during the graduate process was quite clear. If there was one recommendation I would give it would be a good idea to emphasise the importance of the group activity and give some tips to candidate at how they can do well for it.
Graduate, Warrandyte - 11 Jul 2022
1. Mock interview 2. do you own research about the company 3. Be yourself
