What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
There are no bonuses and sometimes the pay may not reflect the value you bring to the company. The pay is also not on par with other companies especially when you are in a technical role.

A little bit low compared to other IT companies, but comes with a better work-life balance.
Graduate, Melbourne - 23 Jul 2024
As a graduate you don't get paid as much, but since it is part of VPS, the company doesn't choose the pay for each employee and salaries are more standardized.

The starting salary for graduates in my cohort was perhaps a bit lower than what I've seen at other companies. There is a possibility to increase your salary grade slightly based off of performance from what I understand. I imagine once we exit the grad program and apply for an actual position, the pay would be better.

Our graduate pay is lower than the average market pays.

No bonuses
Graduate, Melbourne - 21 Sep 2023
There are no bonuses in the public sector to my knowledge, however, the opportunities for progression are quite good. Yearly progression as long as you're meeting to certain goals.
Graduate, Melbourne - 21 Sep 2023
Salary is not competitive to other companies.
Graduate, Melbourne - 14 Sep 2023
In terms of pay, as we are still freshers the pay part is where every graduate struggles as we aspire to earn more for what we do. Cenitex can improve more in terms of reducing the Fixed term contract to 1.5 years and increase the pay by atleast 15%.

Stable but a bit lower than average salary in the industry
Graduate, Melbourne - 13 Sep 2023
Recently tried to get a pay increase and it has taken months. But otherwise pay is reasonable and very little to no bonuses.
Graduate, Melbourne - 19 Jul 2022
A slow, gradual increase in pay is what I have experienced. I believe it to be fair remuneration. Generally there would be no 'bonuses' as such in public sector.
Graduate, Melbourne - 15 Jul 2022
Pay seems quite reasonable, especially for a graduate considering how not too much responsibility is given to me. Do note that there are no bonuses in the public sector.
Graduate, Mount Waverley - 14 Jul 2022
There's some unrealistic SLA's that can have an impact with progression.
Graduate, Warrandyte - 11 Jul 2022
Pay is pretty standard. Not really any bonuses.
Graduate, Melbourne - 11 Jul 2022
It does not match the inflation and increasing living expense.
Graduate, Sydney - 11 Jul 2022
I am a bit anxious about the salary sometimes but its a little bit low for a start in the industry but we can still survive.

Graduate, Melbourne - 31 Jul 2024
We receive an annual mobility allowance from the government and automatic pay increases depending on the VPS agreement. Being part of the VPS, you also have the opportunity to take leave with half pay or leave with no pay.

I thought the Flare benefits was quite interesting, offering us some discounts. They've also done some research with Super and gone for what is currently considered the best performing Super fund as their default. So nice to see that they try to keep that up to date.
Graduate, Melbourne - 22 Jul 2024

Graduate, Melbourne - 21 Sep 2023
