Energy Queensland is seeking passionate engineering students to help us shape the future of energy in Queensland and deliver real world transformation. Our organisation is at the forefront of embracing new technology, new ideas, alternative energy solutions and smart grid technology. 

Energy Queensland’s Future of Energy Engineering Scholarships will help to grow our highly skilled electrical engineering workforce to ensure Queensland has some of the best trained electrical engineers anywhere in the world.

Eligibility

  • Studying Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Power, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Civil/Structural), Dual/double degrees, Integrated Bachelor and Master Degrees
  • 2nd to final year                            
  • Average GPA 5
  • Be undertaking full-time study per Energy Queensland’s requirements
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident
  • Have a high degree of passion and ambition to work in the energy industry and be part of Queensland’s renewable energy transformation
  • Mobility, flexibility and the desire to work on energy projects locally and regionally
  • Demonstrate good communication skills and an active team member
  • Display excellent problem solving and decision-making skills

Graduate Program

  • Final year scholarship students are invited to apply for our highly sought after graduate program
  • Our Graduate Program offers mentors, 6-monthly rotations to broaden your experiences, the opportunity to learn from industry experts and to work with new and emerging technologies
  • Graduate engineers work towards Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) in partnership with Engineers Education Australia (EEA)
  • All graduates are matched with an experienced engineer as a mentor who plays a critical role in the graduate’s long-term development by acting as a counsellor, coach and advocate

Scholarship recruitment process below :

  1. Candidates submit resume and cover letter
  2. Mechanical Reasoning & Quantitative Reasoning tests, as well as a video interview sent out to shortlisted/eligible students
  3. Shortlisted candidates complete additional safety awareness and workstyles, values & motivations assessments
  4. Further shortlisted candidates interview panel stage
