Our opportunity

We are now on the lookout for a passionate and committed Safety Graduate to start their career journey in our Infrastructure Service business. This role will provide a final year student or recent Graduate, a rewarding opportunity on both a personal and professional level, to be part of a tailored development framework, where you can be inspired and learn from our skilled and experienced team members.

This role will suit someone who has a genuine interest in Health and Safety as a career. This role will have you working at both the office and site levels to assist with the implementation and maintenance of various Health and Safety processes and initiatives while supporting us in maintaining our Living Safely culture. By supporting and working closely with our Safety Managers you will learn key safety activities at an operational level.

Your contribution: 

  • Learn and implement the requirements of the Fulton Hogan Safety Management System.
  • Assist the safety team in the preparation of safety documentation that identifies and controls site risks.
  • Assist our operational teams with site safety support and undertake safety tasks to achieve health and safety targets, manage critical risks and improve safety awareness.
  • Assist the team to ensure our projects consistently operate in accordance with the legislative requirements, organisational goals, the Health and Safety Management Plan and respective Site Safety Plans.
  • Participate in compliance and monitoring related activities, including: audits, inspections, observations, site walks, sub-contractor and plant inductions.
  • Review and assess the outcomes of safety reporting.
  • Proactively engage in the amendment of site documentation in response to organisational changes, identified improvements, periodic review and legislative changes.

Let’s connect:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, or a related area.
  • Good leadership, organisational and communication skills with the ability to develop, manage and maintain great relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • A high degree of enthusiasm and drive, with a strong desire to deliver positive outcomes as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to undertake regular travel to our project sites across Melbourne, in addition to occasional weekend work or night shift.
