Who are we?

Johnson Winter Slattery is a leading independent full-service Australian law firm with specialist expertise in all facets of commercial law. We work with leading Australian and international businesses, funds and government agencies and are trusted by our clients with their most important and complex transactions and disputes. Our lawyers are experts in their field and recognised across all areas of corporate law.

We have over 400 professionals working in our Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and Canberra offices.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for Seasonal Clerks to join our 2024/25 Clerkship Program in our Adelaide office.

Working with us will give you all the benefits that come with working for a leading law firm and much more. We will put you at the forefront of Australian commerce, working with our clients on their most complex and business critical legal work.

In addition to 'on the job' training you will also have the opportunity to learn from our specially designed training program for junior lawyers. Learning, development and mentoring are key features on both of our programs and you will be well supported by a network of colleagues.

Why choose us?

We offer a unique opportunity to take on high end legal work in an environment where people support each other. We genuinely care about our people and will support you throughout your career. Our high level of senior lawyer engagement will give you more opportunity to shape your career and step up.

  • Accelerate your career: Our lawyers take on the work that reflects their ability, not their job title. You’ll benefit from a bespoke professional development program. There are no barriers to your success with us.
  • Go your own way: Our lawyers work collaboratively across practice groups, always with a focus on quality legal work, exceptional client service and delivering on our client’s commercial objectives
  • It's a vibe thing: Our ethos is: “we’re in it together” and it’s what we live by. We pride ourselves on being down to earth, approachable, but always high performing

Join us!

If you are enthusiastic, driven to succeed and want to continually develop your skills, you'll fit right in.

We're looking for students who have not only excelled academically, but have great communications skills, thrive in a collaborative environment and want to deliver legal advice to create the best outcomes for our clients. Written applications should include a covering letter, CV and current official academic transcript. They should be addressed to Wilma Lewis, Senior People & Development Consultant. Applications should be submitted no later than Friday, 28 July 2024.

We are committed to promoting a workplace that is diverse and inclusive.  We encourage the best people - regardless of race, religion, or belief if any, gender, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, or age - to fulfil their professional aspirations with us. In particular we would welcome applications from First Nations candidates

Johnson Winter Slattery pays respect to Elders past and present of our nation’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We honour the deep spiritual, cultural and customary connections of Traditional Owners to the Australian landscape, including Australia’s waterways, land, and sea country.
