What projects/initiatives does your employer run and what have you worked on personally?
JWS is involved with a number of companies through the provision of legal services on a pro bono basis. We are steadily increasing our pro bono work which is good for these companies. However, the pro bono work also provides the more junior lawyers with the opportunity to assist on matters and get unique experience which may not otherwise be available.

The firm has recently expanded upon its pro bono practice group in the last two years. In this time, I have worked within a community legal centre on secondment, and have assisted some of our pro bono clients. The firm is often well-represented at charitable and industry events supporting our pro bono clients, as well as engaging with other stakeholders related to particular social issues, such as domestic violence, violence against women, and social justice.

I have completed pro bono work for the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Adelaide University's legal clinic and Vinnies.
