Working Hours at Johnson Winter Slattery

7.7
7.7 rating for Working Hours, based on 11 reviews
How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
Work hours depend on the matters. Typically work 8am-6pm on a standard day. When there are deadlines this will usually extend in the realms of 7.30am-10pm (or later) as required. It is not uncommon to work very long hours when there are short deadlines. Weekend work may also be required. Hours are however flexible in that you may manage your own hours, and work from home if you require.

My work hours are usually no longer than 8:30-5:30 which I quite enjoy. There have been occasions where I have had to work later (and sometimes unnecessarily which can be frustrating) but overall the average number of hours I spend in the office is quite good. I find JWS to be relatively flexible. However, in saying this, I haven't really had to change or amend my hours to times that would be considered as "flexible".

Pretty flexible there are expected hours for you to be in work but they do not expect you to stay back if you are not busy. They understand that there is an ebb and flow to how busy you can be.

Hours are reasonable. Company is flexible but at times can overwork people

Except for major matters with substantial workloads or deadlines, I am usually able to start and finish my work day within regular business hours / only work slightly past regular business hours. Many practitioners I work for are happy for me to work from home for certain tasks, or leave the office at 5 and then log back on at home. One benefit is that you are able to travel without using annual leave, provided that you are still able to complete your work from a remote location. I have not encountered any recent difficulties with long hours, although I have colleagues who occasionally work very long hours for weeks/months on end for particular matters.

Yes, I am able to fit in my sports activities and work from home when needed.

Quite flexible - on days with sport training I get in early which ensures I can leave on time

There are obviously some busy periods that require extra hours but for the most part there is no pressure to stay late and work long hours. You are encouraged to leave at a reasonable hour. I know a lot of friends at other firms who work weekends and all hours of the night but that is not encouraged at JWS.

Very flexible but I think it is very dependent on who you are working for at the time. When extra hours are needed everyone pushes through to get to the finish line but its certainly not an expectation that you're in on weekends as a general rule.
