Morgan Stanley is seeking interns to join the Fixed Income Division Team for the Off-Cycle Internship Program. This is a 6-month internship program designed as an opportunity to learn more about the important role that the Fixed Income Division plays within the Firm. Institutional Securities Documentation (ISD) is a global team based in several locations (including New York, London, Hong Kong, Budapest and Tokyo) and Mumbai ISD team works closely with the team in various locations.
In the Fixed Income division, they work in fast-paced and constantly changing global markets to assess and manage risk, trade securities, manage relationships with clients, and structure and execute innovative transactions.
What you’ll do in the role
Provide support to the documentation negotiators in the team by preparing amendment agreements, reviewing, and analyzing legal documentation to determine capacity and authority to enter Over the Counter (OTC) derivatives transactions, preparing sign-off sheets, etc.
Actively participate in global team projects on initiatives such as risk management, regulatory-driven projects, etc. and ensure timely execution and completion.
Assist in updating internal systems regarding negotiation status, documentation database, project trackers, etc.
Handle post-negotiation matters including arranging for signing, coordinating the filing of electronic documents and original documents, dispatching documents to counterparties, etc.
About you
What you’ll bring to the role
Law students currently studying in the 2nd year of the 3-year LLB course or the 3rd year/4th year of the 5-year LLB course.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Good team player.
Strong quantitative skills and a strong interest in business, economics, and law.
Willingness and ability to provide quality service to the Firm's clients and to promote and enhance the Morgan Stanley franchise.
Willingness to work in a dynamic environment and the ability to excel under pressure.
Proficiency and interest in technology and systems development.
Organized, pro-active, ability to multitask and work efficiently, detail oriented and self-sufficient.
