Transpower is the owner and operator of the national grid, New Zealand's power system, and play an important role in the decarbonisation of the New Zealand economy through electrification.

The Opportunity

This is a new full-time role in our Wellington-based Human Resources team.  The role is well suited to someone that really wants to learn and who also has an interest in people-centric data and deriving insights from data that help make business decisions.

The purpose of the role is to support with the provision of practical, accurate, and timely people data analytics and insights so the business can make well-informed decisions. The people data you will be working with is used for:

  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
  • Board reporting
  • Employee engagement
  • Remuneration
  • Recruitment
  • Payroll
  • Surveys

You will support, and be mentored by, our Remuneration & Analytics Specialist and have the opportunity to gain an insight into all aspects of the Human Resources function by working in a collaborative, cohesive, customer-focused team.

What will you bring to the role?

You'll have a tertiary qualification and may have one or two-years' relevant work experience that allows you to demonstrate a common-sense approach and sound judgement

An enquiring and analytical mind will ensure you are successful in the role.  We are looking for someone who has the following attributes:

  • A keen interest in data and analytics.
  • A quick learner who can master new tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong excel skills
  • The ability to prioritise work and manage expectations

While not essential, experience in using Power BI and/or using a payroll system, including running reports and extracting data, will be highly regarded.

Your CV and cover letter will clearly demonstrate these attributes, and you must be available to start within 4 - 6 weeks.
