Join our specialist Grid Investment and Modelling team who support infrastructure decision making for Transpower.

The team interfaces and works with a range of other teams nationwide, who collectively manage critical infrastructure assets in excess of $5.5B.

The data you'll work with comes from a variety of market and internally sourced data outputs and provides insights across multiple areas, including current and future electricity demands, potential generation capability, emerging new energy sources, future pricing, and transmission demands, as well as asset management and hydrology implications and impacts.

Using data provided, you'll model, analyse, and advise upon future scenarios including:

  • transmission network flows
  • the impacts of new generation sources
  • future consumer demands
  • cost constraints on the network
  • the impact of power outages
  • grid investments and areas of upgrade
  • future emission levels
  • electricity price forecasts

About you

You'll bring proven quantitative data analysis and modelling skills, and the ability to effectively and clearly communicate your analysis, including visually and in written report form.  Working well with others of varying backgrounds and levels, you'll demonstrate great communication skills and curiosity, enjoy learning, and be able to work both in a team setting and independently.

Your CV and cover letter will demonstrate a qualification in a quantitative field e.g. economics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or physics as well as solid foundational experience applying simulation and data manipulation software.
