I’ve worked in-house as a senior corporate counsel at Cuscal for two years. Can you provide a brief overview of your professional background? I’ve spent most of my career as a specialist lawyer within financial services.
My focus has been on corporate governance, legal compliance and IT law.
My role involves overseeing and managing all corporate governance matters and reporting to the Board, partnering with the business to draft precedents, negotiating and finalising agreements and of course to provide expert legal advice and to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
I studied at the University of Sydney where, after completing my undergraduate degree, I obtained a Master of Laws. I’ve more recently received a fellowship from the Governance Institute of Australia.
Back in high school, a friend challenged me to study law. The rest, as they say, is history.
Cuscal focuses on providing innovative, reliable and secure payment solutions for businesses of all shapes and sizes.
I meet with clients and internal stakeholders to provide legal advice as needed. I also review and approve the legal aspects of Cuscal’s products and services.
It can sometimes be quite tricky to work through competing priorities.
I enjoy developing new agreements with various companies including airlines and financial technology organisations.
Leadership, interpersonal skills, and patience.
The amount of reading can be exhausting at times.
