A Day in the Life at Alluvium Group

  • Day in the life

Iris Kostas

We have our fortnightly team meeting for Alluvium’s Melbourne office. We discuss ‘people news’, which includes welcoming any new starters, birthdays, etc. We also receive an update on ‘office news’ such as preparations for our upcoming office move, and an update on how the company is tracking financially for the quarter.

As a team, we like to take 5 minutes to stand up and move around. This can include anything from a light stretch to a push-up challenge … whatever you feel like doing, fitting in 5 minutes is a great way to take a break from the screen and get the blood flowing.

The people in the office love coffee and often go to a nearby cafe together. I often get a vegemite pastry when we go. Group meeting to discuss any key updates or things to be aware of. It is also a time to learn something interesting, with another team member presenting something they’ve been working on. The responsibility of running the meeting cycles around weekly is a good way for me to practice my communication skills.
